Who we are
We are Nomads because we are in constant movement: nurturing ourselves from the experience of wandering around the world. For this reason we created a meeting spot where you can rest and enjoy Valparaíso: filling up your backpack with fresh energy to keep going on the road.
Nómada Eco Hostel was launched in 2009 with the support of family, friends, travellers, and each one who has brought their art, joy and work; which has enabled us to be the best lodging option to nomadic souls in Valparaíso. We work since the beginning with a distinct concept that combines culture, entrepreneurship, recreation, and -needless to say- a high quality service. We have it all within our eclectic-style house decorated with antiques, street art, and a youthful-friendly atmosphere.
We who work at Nómada Eco Hostel know your necessities because we are travellers ourselves. Our motivation is to have a place to keep walking alongside you. You will have us as friends, who will be willing to help you to get to know this magical city surrounded by bohemia, art and history.
We invite you to a once in a life experience as if you were in your own home, but in one of the most beautiful cities in Latin America. With that being said, Valparaíso is declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The very first contact to get in touch with Valparaíso’s history and culture is looking at our house from 1918. The hostel is located in an architectural complex of five buildings in eclectic style, sharing a continuous façade and an entrance garden. These buildings are well known across the city both for its aesthetic qualities and for its uniqueness in Valparaíso’s downtown.
At Nómada you will have an encounter with remarkable artists who have produced paintings and street-art exclusively for us. Furthermore, we are constantly hosting photography exhibitions, local handicrafts fairs, and music concerts.
LOCATION AND SECURITY
Nómada Eco Hostel’s infrastructure and security are two of its major assets. Located just two blocks from the famous Victoria Square. Also from a walking distance to touristic spots such as Aníbal Pinto Square, Ecuador Avenue, and Cumming Street, where history, bohemia and cuisine meet in vibrant melting pot of locals and visitors.
Brasil Avenue is one of the safest parts of Valparaíso. Polanco Palace, a centennial construction is controlled by the Police Department and has 24/7 guard. Also, thanks to the multiple public transportation options nearby, we have quick connection to anywhere in town including the vineyards, national parks, and lakes in its outskirts.
We have been pioneers in Valparaíso in becoming an eco hostel. We work with the ngo Valpo Interviene since 2013. We have been gradually implementing a set of measures to run a tourism business that conserves the environment. Come to help us to keep doing our bit!
Our terrace is a place of exhilarating energy. Its is hard to describe, so come to experience it! You will surely spend magic evenings in the company of Chilean wine and a vivid conversation. We have put our heart on/in/at (dude…prepositions can be hard): furniture is made of recycled wood, it is adorned by organic plants and herbs that you can use to cook!
